Any ideas what to fill the empty whole in the trunk where the spare/jack used to be? ..and speaker enclosure is not an option. I just need something to support the trunk mat so it's not sagging into the whole.

I have considered this, but where do you go about buying a large chunk of foam? It would have to be pretty big.

NVM! - A quick google of "foam" answered this!

Just line it in carpet and remove the factory mat and cardboard piece. Give you a little more room for whatever.

What if I wanted to put a Lil 12 back there? What would be the best way to go about it? I kinda want it to be able to be covered up by the carpet and not use any trunk space.

I like duh's idea, line it and carpet it for some extra space

Our 98 parts car had some carpet laid down in there and I was like "DANG THATS A GOOD IDEA" and then I proceeded to gut my car and not give a rats ass. haha

Fiberglass the spare spot then son!

Personally though, I planned on removing one of the carpet sides and building a box in that area. It's take up a little bit of space but I don't like the idea of having a sub pointed up where shit can be bouncing on top of it.

hmmmm I dont really put shit in my trunk anyway though. Im wondering if just a piece of mdf cut into the shape of the spare hole, and a hole cut for the sub would do it...and mount it using some L brackets or somethin.

Wouldn't be sealed worth shit and would sound pretty nasty plus look ghetto as hell. Honestly, learn how to fiberglass. Its not too hard and itd be easy to make a nice box for your spare hole. Do it right and you could probably move it if you needed to put something in the back

It doesnt have to be ugly. Once you get it built, smooth it out with some bondo and paint it.

I had no idea this thread was going to get so many creative solutions... lol I've decided to get a custom piece of high-density foam made that's about the size of the spare. I wonder if there would be any demand for a product like this for ppl who either lost their spare or don't want to drive around with the spare in the trunk. Business venture anyone?
