Never done/had weed, but anti-sieze is fine if you use it right. Some like to slop it on like a sloppy joe burger, then use an impact gun to tighten. Guess where it goes? Yep, the some's good, more's better doesn't work well with it. I ususally wear out the brush before a bottle so I keep extra cap/brushes around to replace them. Good stuff! The next person who takes the bolt/nut off will thank you, and it might even be you!

I rummaged through the trash can just in time before trash day and fished out one of the old plugs that I replaced. It’s gapped at .042 and the engine was running great. So, I will pull out the new plugs (which I gapped @ .054 and regap to .042, pop them back in and see how she runs!

Why go smaller? If it’s running well at 0.054” without misfire, why not leave it?

With an N/a combo you ideally want to expose more of the spark flame to the air/fuel mix.

That’s the problem: it’s running like crap with the new plugs @ .054, whereas the old ones were gapped @ .042

Interesting.

Just a thought that it might be worth going over your ignition system just in case. You don’t happen to have an aftermarket coil by any chance?
