Speedo Gear

My speedo stopped working and my suspision was the speedo gear. I went ahead and checked it out this morning, and my suspisions were comfirmed. The gear is missing half the teeth. One question is where do those teeth go...is there some way I need to clean them out. Secon and main question is, How do I seperate the gear from the VSS? Thanks guys.

there is a clip on the end of the vss and the gear will then slide off.
I got my gear from the stealership. I think LMR also has the gears too

Those little plastic teeth in the bottom of your trans won't hurt anything. They will grind up into nothing in no time.

It's an easy swap, which is nice, plus it's pretty cheap to buy the gears.

When you install the new ones, make sure the gear is seated properly. If it's not in there correctly it'll just chew up again.

If it doesn't work after you change the gear, it could be the gear in the speedo cluster itself.
