    Does anybody know what color or # of splines the tranny speed sensor driven gear on a 94-95 mustang gt should have? Im talking about what gear the cars came with from the factory. I pulled mine out and it was a red 21 spline gear. is this right for original equipment gear ratio? I always thought that the speedo was off, but i was never sure why. i'm thinking that this may have something to do with it. By the way, what is the factory gear ratio of the 94-95 cars?

    3.08's were factory I believe....that or 3.27's. Some even claim 2.73's. I don't know off the top of my head its been so long since I swapped mine. You can put the car in neutral, jack up the rear, and turn the driveshaft by hand and count how many rotations it takes to make ONE full revolution of the tires. That way you'll be postive if you don't know if the car was modded. If you car is an Auto or 5speed makes a difference as well.

    It should be a black 20 tooth.

    here is a list

    1990-1998 - 3.27:1(21), 3.55:1(23), 3.73:1(23*), 4.10:1(23*).

    *23 tooth gear can be used but is not completely accurate. You must change the transmission drive gear to achieve proper calibration.

    the number in parenthesis' is the tooth count.

    20 = black

    21 = Red

    23 = White
