So, i took my car to the body shop today to get adjusted from my Hit n Run. Got it all done. When the guy opened my driver door to look @ the VIN sticker on inside the door jam. Also right under the door jam sticker on the body where the kick panel is.. the metal is ROUGH and uneven on the driver side. He said thats how he knew its been in an accident before.

Low and behold it was gone. I knew it was gone because i remember my 1997 GT having a sticker there. I thought nothing of it when buying my 1995. Also every STICKER on the car is missing. The underhood sticker where the "belt routing and oil type" is also GONE. There is no sticker on the metal panel part by the radiator. I have a stock hood, but a cobra front bumper.

Are these signs my car been in a accident before?

I really dont care, because the car is perfect to me and has a clean carfax (well had) if i let insurance repair the current hit and run damages.

Dirty but to the point

Why would you make a thread saying "Stang has been in a accident before" if you are unsure if it's ever been in an accident before, either it's been in one or not. If the body shop says its been in an accident before then it probably has, that being said. Wouldn't you take a person's word who is trained to do what he's doing rather than a forum full of people who are just giving their opinions?
Yes it looks to have been wrecked, best way to figure out if it has been is to run your finger along the lines on the car (ex. run your finger between the hood and fender, feel for any uneven alignment).
Again the body shop know's what they are talking about so if they say it's been wrecked, then it's been wrecked.

I know on my 95 I had a plastic cover on the core support above the radiator that had all the stickers on it so I wouldn't worry to much about the front end unless you find actual proof of front end damage

The body shop didn't tell me. The insurance guy that looks at the cars for estimated damages told me.

Also, last thing i knew this was a forum where i can make threads. It was on the topic of a mustang in the right forum section so i see nothing wrong with the thread i made. I wanted to know if these are normal signs something has been done. I dont like how you started your reply off towards me, but the rest of your reply had good information.

It's a possibility, but like others said, if everything is straight and correct you shouldn't think too much of it.

My old car was fixed several times, doesn't make shit all for difference. Look at bottlefeds car, that that was SMASHED now look at. Unless you plan on trying to keep the car for 60+ years and storing it as a 100% original classic, I wouldn't worry.

Im not. I was just curious to be honest. My 2008 car has been in a accident also reported via Carfax and it doesnt bother me. The mustang car fax is clean though. Just goes to show you can't trust that service 100%. I wouldve brought the mustang even if the carfax was dirty.. it was cheap and nice looking and drove fine which is enough for me.

Car looks good now, well after it gets fixed. So what the heck right.

The car looks good right now. The hit and run damage was only $660. Just needs 1 dent removed and some buffing and little paint
