When going at normal speeds on the highway i turn my wheel the slightest to the right i have slight vibrations i can feel in my hands and feet and a noise coming from the engine bay. It turns great to the left just not right. Its getting worse and more annoying so i need to fix it but im not sure how to pinpoint what is the cause. It feels almost as if something is rubbing but not.
help me out here guys.
thanks
jacob

You may have a tire/wheel with some lateral runout (side to side). Jack up front and roll the tires by hand and watch carefully. Look for inner & outer sidewall bubbles and look for shallow spots in the tread. Could be the start of a belt seperation.

Wheel bearing would be my first likely culprit. Next would be tires just as GDTrumbo mentioned. Not that my opinion counts for much since the genius members already covered it. :tongue3:

How can i check the wheel bearings aside from pulling them out? will the tire not turn smoothly or something?

you can try by getting the tire in the air and rotate it slowly and feel for notchyness.
but the best way is to take the hub off and inspect the bearings in your hand

Have fun trying to get the spindle nut off! Those are attached with 236 ft. lbs. of torque iwth a "single use" 36mm nut that is pinched at the end. Better get a bigass impact wrench!

Paul.

Turns out it was the wheel bearing. I got the bad side done tonight. The dust cap was mysteriously missing which probably played a part in the bearing failure. Anyone know where i can pick on up? O reillys didnt have the right size. I used a 1/2" ratchet and a pipe on that spindle bolt. It wasnt too bad. Much easier job than i had expected.
