SO....I'm going to build a sealed box for my sub. The ported box was ridiculously big and wouldn't fit under the rear deck. So long story short I'm going to build this 'tiny' box. My question is how to mount it in the trunk. I want it up against the seat but have you guys made bracket and bolted it to the seats or to the floor or what do you suggest? I dont really want to drill holes in my trunk either...

I did this...

It's a Kicker L7 in a sealed box. .88 cubic feet, just as Kicker recommends.

yeah make sure you tune your box and get the specs of the sub manufacturer. my buddy did mine so its dead on but its a pretty large box. it houses my 10" kicker L5 and my amp. ill go take pics here in a second.

When I had my mach460 in the car I bolted it to that. Now that I dont, I ran plumbers tape through the the back where the rear seats attach and screwed them into the Box. I really like my setup.

i have held boxes down in the past using velcro, put a couple strips down on the trunk mat and some on the box, that combined with the weight of the box should hold it in place

Mine just slid around. haha. I put some bumper on it to keep the speaker form hitting anything, but it was meant to be temporary so I didn't bother. It wasn't in but just a couple of months. I have big plans for a custom box now :D

if you do not have your box mounted, you better hope you never rear-end someone. I don't care if it is in the trunk, if you think that seats will hold a 30-50lb box moving at 10-30mph to continue through your head/back you are wrong.

Yea, I agree. Like I said, my setup was just temporary. Plus theres no way in hell that box would have come out. I had to take the seats out and then notch and bend the metal behind it to slide it in. It wasn't going too far lol.
