no, the problem is that best buy goes through its workers like mcdonalds goes through paper cups. The store I use to work at had a HUGE banner(probably 25 x 15 ft), one of the temp vinyl ones that hung for over 5 yrs straight. They hire some of the dumbest people, fire the good workers, and no one sticks around long enough to get trained in their position. They treat everyone like a number that is replaceable and isn't afraid to get rid of anyone at any time. They fired my install sup when we were a bay of 2 and I was not fully trained for BS reasons and left me alone. They would get mad at me when I would ask to close the bay for a day off since they couldn't find anyone to replace him and after 4 months of this I was ready to leave too!

One of the happiest days of my life was when I went up to cust service and took of my install shirt(had an under shirt), cut off my mecp patches, tore the shirt into 3-4 pieces infront of my GM and then tossed it into his hands and told him to give it to the next installer as I didn't need it anymore. Start planning your exit and how you want to do it with some style as I am sure they are kicking you around just like they did me and when you have finally had enough you can join me on the disgruntled employee side of bestbuysux.org.

I already "quit". I was a full time employee and now I work once a week. As an installer. Its really funny because basically all i do is hook people up...

ah, I see how you can stand it now. I know a great custom shop in scottsdale that is almost always looking for a good installer/manager, pays prettywell and gets to work on some really cool cars with cool builds. The owner is a friend and former boss of mine and a good guy to work for. let me know if you ever get interested, installing is soo much more fun outside of bby, trust me.....

I used to work at circuit city as a 12v lead. I quit the day they went from commmison to an hourly rate to be like best buy. For me it was a hobby and I sold products based on my knowledge and I worked for my money. What incentive does the help have to learn if the guy with no experience makes the same as a lead installer.

pm me and I can give you the skinny. It ain't a big field of daisies but out of all the shops I worked at(5 total I guess) that one was the most fun. I learned alot, he paid better then most and was the kind of owner/operator that was back in the bay sweating just as hard as me when it needed to be done. This is also in scottsdale, so you get some high end cars with big budgets.
