What does a stock 2 valve stang run in the 1320? Do they respond well to mods? Also is there a difference in the motors between the sn95's and the newer '99-'04 gt's?
The 4.6 2v's can make power, but nothing outrageous without some money. The new-edge 4.6's have PI intake which is a major restriction on the older 4.6's. There are swaps out there to convert the old 4.6's to PI and I believe it costs around $1-2K
The only main difference between the 99 and newer is the PI heads and intake. I have a writeup on this subject, and general upgrade info for the sn95. http://www.sn95forums.com/forum/index.php?topic=1292.0
The 99 and newer 4.6's are way better than the old NON PI versions, if you have a choice...........make the right one PI in either a part swap or the entire engine assembly
96-98 4.6s have diffrent heads, cams and intake then the 99-04 4.6s which is why the older ones made 215-225hp and the newer ones made 260hp. i'v swapped the newer cams in and put the new intake on and it makes a huge diffrence in power.
Just do it the easy way like me and get the dohc motor :khobra: That's a noticeable difference over the 94/95 gt's.
Hey you can't deny it. With a few mods the dohc will rape any slightly modded sn more than it does stock.
Once i was PI swapped and Cammed i never had a problem with N/A Cobras. I do think that some of the Cobras i beat were not driven properly but a win is a win :khobra:
Give me a couple of weeks and i'll be spraying, got a friend of mine thats hooking me up with an unused kit she's got lying around.
