what size is the stock rear end on a 95 gt?

I think the manual trans. cars had 3.08 gears like regular production Cobra and the automatics had 3.27.

Yes 2.73 was the standard gear shown on the chart below for the 1994 Mustang, which I would guess would be the same for 1995. 3.27 and 3.08 were optional gear ratios, and broke down as I had mentioned above 3.08 for manual trans, 3.27 for automatics. So it appears from this factory Ford literiture that a 3.27 gear was not an option for a manual trans., only 3.08.<<<Unless something changed for 1995.............

It is funny, the dealership sales brochures for the 1994 and 1995 Mustangs do not list the rear end gear ratios, standard or optional???

Like said. V6 had 7.5 inch rears. Cobra and GT had 8.8. The gears could have been 3.27, 3.08. or 2.73 if you got screwed lol. Cant remember the web site but you can find out the gear ratio from the sticker on the door jamb.

If the rearend hasn't been cracked open and rebuilt, more than likely the label is still there. on the rearend, there should be a stamped piece of steel with the code for the rearend gear, or it may even give the actual gearing. either way, i'd crawl under there and see if it's still connected to the bolt on the rearend.

All three of my 95's have a tag wrapped around the right axle tube with a number that relates to the axle code. As far as I know, paper tags, as shown in the picture below have been used since the 80's at least, maybe even the late 1970's, maybe? The car pictured has somewhat low miles on it (under 10K). Most any car that has been used as a "normal driver" will no longer have this paper tag as the elements will quickly destroy it, OR, if the tag is still there, it usually is illegible.

This "207C" is the axle code for a 95 Cobra. These were manual transmission only and got the 3.08 ratio. The 95 GT w/manual trans. might also be "207C".
