Stock to Aftermarket fan Install???

looking into buying an aftermarket fan since my stock fan isnt cutting it in this temp down here. over heated @ Mustang Week. anyone know what the stock fan size and flow rate is? just wanting to make sure i get a fan that will work with the stock fan shroud and radiator and also flow a good bit more than the stock one is pushing. thanks for any help/info/suggestions

i think the thermostat thats in it is 180. and the factory radiator

The stock fans flow a good amount of cfm...could be that your stock radiator could be somewhat clogged or thermostat isn't opening fast enough.

Yeah there's really no need for a fan upgrade on SN's, something else is up.

The 98's actually have an upgraded fan assembly. When the 96's had issues they were revamped for 97/98 and if you had a 96 with an issue the dealer hooked you up with a rad/fan from a 97/98 under warranty.

you guys think a 160 thermostat would help? and how could i tell if my radiator is clogged?

do not go 160, you should be fine with 180 honestly or else something else is going on. I just changed my 180 for a reische 170, but I have a pretty heavily modified setup. I would either check out your current stock radiator and maybe look into a fluidyne, like these guys said you shouldnt have to change the fan, especially on a mild setup
