i have a couple friends one with and 03 gt and a guy with an 04 cobra. both have straight pipes. the gt sounds alrightcuz he did some crazy s bends in his piping but the cobra all he did was take out his mufflers and weld in some piping and it sounds like god. wot it makes you want to get out and bow down to it.

Louder=faster, don't you guy's know anything? It also means you have a bigger penis, higher intellect, and greater sexual stamina.

Seriously, there is more than decibel level, there is also pitch and tone. People in the car world seem oblivious to pitch and tone, no matter what kind of car we are talking about.

I don't put a glasspack on my Jeep because a straight six with a 'pack sounds goofy. A small cube motor with not reverb or expansion chamber in the exhaust outlet will sound like an old farm truck. Which some people think sounds just awesome, "the sound of performance" whatever floats your boat in the end, but if you want a truly good sounding, not just hillbilly approved car, you gotta pony up for a good catback, of a flow through variety.

bwahahahah, fck you fets, lol.

my dumped lm1 setup was wayyy cheaper than a flow master one. straight pipes will sound alot different than lm1's though. the lm1 is a resonator so it does change the pitch and the tone more than people think. doesnt change it alot, but it does sound wayyy better than straight pipes(which even i cant stand on a mustang)
