right now my car is running some bbk shortys, into a bassani O/R x-pipe, into some flowmaster 40's. im looking to quiet it down a little bit, if i want loud i open my electric cutouts. my exhaust tips are pretty rusty and dented, and i figured maybe i could replace them with some glass packs?

where i work i can get a pretty sick deal on polished stainless steel ones at any length i want.

im just curious as to if anyone has done this, or how it will sound.

Just buy a 05+ GT mustang if you want mufflers as tips lol. JK

But yes this is a strange request i doubt anyone has an 100% correct answer to.

Get a mid pipe with cats and new tips. Open the cutouts when you want loud

just get some cheap cherrybomb turbo mufflers they make the glasspacks but the turbo mufflers are even quieter.

It's hard getting one without sacrificing the other.

I would've said get a catted mid-pipe, but when opening up the cutouts it wont be as loud.
Josh has a good point, you may want to look into swapping some turbo mufflers. Even dynomax makes some quieter mufflers. Getting rid of the flows may be your only solution.

I'm not sure adding glasspacks at the tailpipes will do anything and i'm sure no one on here has ever done that..

hmm swapping out mufflers still wouldnt take care of me needing new tips. im just gonna try slipping glass packs over my tips, if it sounds good ill get em. if not well then ill figure something out.

and there is no way in hell im getting a catted midpipe

also on my old truck(2000 f250, 5.4) i had no cat and i had a 3" to dual 2.5" y pipe and dual glass packs. it sounded surprisingly good, not like any other glass pack setup i had heard before. and it really wasnt too loud.

If you really want new tips, i could sand and polish mine up for you and then sell them to you. They're just sitting in my backyard.
