ok , so i had this problem a few months ago but it was there for 2 days (almost literly 48 hours) and then it vanished. Well its back again , ok so thursday i got off work and was ... toying around driving my car , burnouts some nice lil launches just letting a friend know were im starting so when i finish I feel better about it , WELL she got just a lil bit over half way hot (coolant temp) and WAM ..... my alt. fuse blew out , so we drove back to the house and i changed it (idk why but i always keep spare fuses of all kinds in my car. well every time i brought the car over 1400 rpm it would blow the fuse so i said screw the day ill fix it friday , so friday monring came ... and went , last night i swapped the fuse and ...... didnt pop , so i went to help a friend fix his 94 gt , did a lil burnout just dickin around to show him Posi burnout Vs his 1 tire fire (his isnt a stock rearend) , and nothing , till i was driving hom and Wam popped again without the car being that hot , now i had an auto electrition look at it and he told me that there are no Cracked or exposed wires shorting out the fuse here and there. So my question is WTF is going on ??? now keep in mind 2 weeks ago i threw a night of races at my car and nothing happened , so it does NOT do it every time it gets heated up just here and there , i do know the alt is the original and has almost 200k on it and it might be the regulator (or w/e its called) inside the alt to keep it from OVER charging the batt thats blowing it but im wanting to know of anything else you guys may have come across like this b4 i go just throwing parts at a car .
