Lol fail thread. Most SBF wire sets come like that. Not a manufacturing issue, matter of fact I have the extra one from my set downstairs.

I think I had to take off the long terminal and recrimp a smaller one, and then fit a boot over that.

That was the other option - I just didn't know if you had another terminal, or the crimping tool.

I just used a terminal off an old motorcraft wire, and a flat head and pliers to recrimp them. Works good, or so I think at least.

I did not want to use the long coil wire. I wanted to use the short one. In order to use the short one, you have to install a different terminal to work with factory-style coil, and a different coil boot.

weird i didnt get a short one...bastards!

seems a bit stupid that it comes for a modified coil. so you used the long wire (the one im using) and took the boot & clamp off and put it on the shorty?

Exactly... Could have bought a set of Accel wires and crimped then all urself... I just used the long one. Not gonna hurt anything.

Yeah, something like that. Only I got a terminal and boot off and old motorcraft wire I had laying around.

Taylor wires ftw

NO TYLOR WIRES NOT FOR THE WIN!!!

Thats why Im having to get new wires to begin with. My taylor wires that have been on LESS THEN ONE YEAR have gone to hell the car breaks up at 4,000 RPMS, the set before that was arching off eachohter off the cap. Tylor is crap I'll never get them again. Stick w/ MSD and Ford Racing
Again Taylor wires FTMFW I threw my MSD 8.8 wires away cause the damn things were tearing at the boots. They held on to the plugs too good, I ended up ripping off 3 of the terminals cause it wouldn't let go. Then I had 1 terminal snap in half when trying to adjust the angle. FR wires are just to damn long, and if I wanted to hack up wires and get cut to fit wires.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that wire boot. That is the way they are made so the connector fits all the way into the coil.

"Into" the coil? The terminal protrudes from the coil - it's not recessed.

Interesting someone mentioned the length of the FRPP wires, when i first got them i was like holy F they're long when i compared them to the stock wires. apparently they're long like that because they fit 302 and 351, and obviously the 351 is wider and the plugs need to reach further. I routed the wires a little differently than stock though and they look great; I'll probably buy another pair for the price.

i just got my first part from ford racing directly, my oil pump and pickup tube. im about to take the oil pump apart to see if there are any casting flaws in it.

well see if ford gets a strike or not.
