I'm a sucker for a Twin screw blower's whine, so I would get a Kenne Bell, but most guys will get a Vortech as centri's are apparently better on our engines I think...

It will probably be cheaper and easier to find a used procharger/vortech and the power potential is typically better too. Either way its going to be alot of fun!

After 5 days of ownership of a Procharged 96 with who knows how many miles on the blower, I can only say positive things so far. At idle, people may know you're blown from the whistle, but it's a bit more stealthy than a twin screw or roots.

That would be a good starting point for you.
U thought about the intercooled upgrade?

i plan to supercharge the 351(not sure what it will be stroked to) i am putting in the car when i get the money. i am going with a procharger. i love how they are self contained and are great quality. easy to put on and if you ever take it off you dont have to worry about the holes from the oil lines.

both vortech and paxton make self contained units as well.... do yourself a favor and google, procharger seal leak and impeller touch down before spending money

price wise you'll be better off with a vortech you can find nice used units all over for a really good price.. paxton too can be picked up pretty cheap

I have a Vortech but make sure you
-intercool
-larger injectors
-larger fuel pump
-larger maf
-dynotune
I had installed the basic kit that required sending the ecm to Vortech for a reflash and would never do it that way again.

I had nothing but problems with my procharger, switched to a vortech and havent had a problem since.

LOL, I wish I could have heard from you before buying the car that I did.

Regardless, I'm guessing that a SC change is in my future. Not knowing a whole lot about them, I have to ask the question, can you basically just get the Vortech blower itself and just reuse all the piping and IC?
