Supra Vs 04 Cobra

I had company over last night and we got on the topic of cars.Any way the heated argument of the night was a non NOS supra could get beat buy a stock cobra.My take on it was almost every vid I see of a cobra being owned is by a supra with NOS. Take a way the nos and the supra has no chance.This was based on two drivers of same ability. so am I right or wrong? just want to know

by non-nitrous- do you mean N/A, Turbo or Twin Turbo? Do you mean totally stock supra vs. totally stock Termy?

Thats what I said. But his argument was its lighter (its not lighter) and it has a higher red line ( I don't know what the red line on a supra is so)

Well if he thinks a car is faster because it has a higher redline, he seriously needs to start reading more... ;D
The Termy was (factory) rated at 390hp but actually was putting closer to 450hp. The Supra was factory rated at 320hp don't know for sure what it was really putting out but I know there was much of a weight difference.

ha...Im pretty sure supras are sleds almost 3600 pound for the tt. I would imagine theyre about the same as a termy in weight. The termy would destroy it stock for stock. The supra might have a chance from like a 80 roll haha but still probably not.

But the supra could make 800 hp with a turbo swap on a stock block...then beat the cobra from a roll.

I think a Termi can do the same thing. About 95% sure actually.


Stock TT Supra vs stock Termi would result in one disappointed Supra owner.

The Termy's stock block can hold 900+hp.

The stock tranny on a Termy can hold 900+ hp as well. There's a video on this forum proving it.

what year supra, termy will take any of them stock for stock, my friend had an older stock single turbo one and my car would stomp it off the line and all the way down the road everytime, theres a nother one around hear with an aftermarket turbo and he runs in the low 13's, at the track ive seen built ones run in the 12's, ive never seen a really high horsepower supra run, just in video, but a stock termy block can handle way more than 900 horse, ive seen plenty of them well over a 1000 horse, if you guys remember the red cobra that was on the cover of the summit racing catalog, i think it was only like 550 or somewhere around that to the wheels but that car was at Akron Horsepower when my car was there and it only had like an exhaust, a smaller pulley, a custom sct tune, and a few other things done

Supras are just dyno queens and highway racers...they are generally not that fast off the line or will have horrible traction problems becuase they go from like 150 hp to 500 hp once they start boostin.

for example:

Basically stock pi gt around here beat this kid with a single turbo supra supposedly pushing out 500 hp.

Thats what I thought. I called john and told him.He still thinks the you tube vids are proof. I told him that if you watch those vids almost all the supras are using NOS

dont get me wrong supras are nice lookin cars and for a tuner sound really good. but id take a termy anyday. nothing better than hearing that whine

you can make a supra fast as hell with few mods. but stock for stock i think the cobra would win. but not by much.

Stock 04 cobra vS stock TT 93+ Supa Would be a close race.

The supra can run low 13s- high 12s But They pull up top.

Cobras usually run high to mid 12s.

The win from a dig is hands down the cobra. If it was from a roll, the cobra would still win, but it would be a lot closer race.

Both cars are extremely moddable.

Its not hard to make either car faster than the other one with minimal work.
