Suspension?

I was considering buying the Eibach pro plus suspension kit,does anyone have any feed back on this kit for me? Also any other type of kit info would be helpful. I am looking to stay on a budget and use it on my 94gt driver/autocross. Should I replace my quadshocks too?

I've heard mostly good things about the Eibach lowering springs, not sure about the whole kits though. There's a lot of options as far as Koni, Bilstein, Eibach, Tokico etc for struts and other stuff. You don't necessarily have to get the same brand shocks as springs. As far as the quad shocks, you don't need to replace them unless you're having wheelhop problems (they're broke). Some people claim not to even need quad shocks. If you get good lower control arms you can usually take them off completely.

what are you looking to get out of the car? The eibach spring kits are good for looks only. Ride quality is shit, they're too low for the spring rates used.

if that's not a concern go for it.


a good daily driver / occasional autocross/HPDE setup is Steeda sport springs with Bilstein shocks, you can get the shocks fairly cheap if you find 03/04 cobra take-off front struts, and buy the rear shocks separately. IRS rear shocks won't work.

Ford racing B or C springs are very comparable to the Steeda's.

a step up from those are the H&R Race springs

Next step is coil overs with 300 - 350lb springs in the front and ~250lb in the rear.

^ what he said.. If your looking to lower and drive the car on the street/auto-X it.. Ide go with the H/R Race springs or a set from MM.. They have a good set of springs that do well in street/autox function..

shocks/struts.. Ide say a nice set of bilstiens ^^^ like he said as well..

or a set of Konis

If you're wanting handling, I'd recommend some adjustable Konis or Blisteins. I plan on going with adjustable Konis with a MM coilover kit, rear control arms, CC plates, and a panhard bar.

you can have both.

my `89 I run Griggs/Koni double adjustable struts with 350lb coil overs in the front, Griggs/Koni single adjustable rear shocks with MM torque arm springs, MM HD Adj. lca's, MM PHB, MM HD T/A. It rides really well, almost as comfy as my `97 which has an IRS with cobra bilsteins and H&R race springs.

I wouldn't recommend KYB shocks/struts.

don't forget a good set of caster/camber adjustment plates with whatever you choose, I run MM on both cars.
