What would it take to put a 4.6 PI motor into my dads 5-speed 01 v6. what would be the round about cost of it all and what all would have to be changed?

Also, we have been throwin around the idea of dropping a 302 carb motor in there and maybe stroking it to 347 or something, what would it take to put a carb motor in that car? and the price etc etc

Thanks for the help

For PI swap, PI engine and trans, 8.8 rear end and drive shaft, and computer. Wont get out the door for much less than $3k im assuming.

No idea about the 302 though.

Sell the V6 and buy a V8 car. That's the cheapest and best way.

Seeing as how the v6 is a 5 speed. It has the same bolt pattern as the 5.0. So actually a 302 swap would be cheaper than a 4.6 swap. Using the v6 5speed with a stock 302 would quite possibly be the absolute cheapest way to have a V8. I would personally build a 347, and attach a world class T-5 to it, before dropping in anything stock.

Also, with a carbed 302, 306, 331, or whatever your gauges will most likely NOT WORK seeing as how it was a v6, but I could be wrong.

thats what I was thinking, but seeing as we are going through bankruptcy for the next 5 years, his car is included in it so we have to keep it for that amount of time. So we figured we should just drop something in that car.

If you plan to go 5.0 you will also need to change your K member. If you plan to go EFI 5.0 you will need to change all the wire harnesses and convert to OBD1. Cheapest would be get a K member out of a 5.0 or 94/95 V6 car, go carb.

However I just tried the swap on a 95 v6 and its gonna cost alot...a whole lot. He would be better off buying a GT and selling the 6r. Thats what I did.
