t-5 whine

do i just need to change the fluid? is there a trans filter i can change, just by pullin off the cover? why is it whine so loud?

By all means, check the fluid level first. If pretty dirty, drain & refill with the specified synthetic fluid. Try it again.

Mine has whined for about 5K miles, I wonder whats going on too, but it hasnt exploded yet. I just changed oil twice, once cuz I had to, and once cuz I dumped it to change the clutch.

I rebuilt my tranny and it still has a small whine to it. Are your gears slipping out at all? I think that with my aftermarket shifter and such there just seems to be noise coming from it. AKA buy some speakers and turn it up :thumbsup:

my original t-5 had a audible(not too loud)whine and lasted through quite a bit of abuse. I just put in a built t-5 from promotion and no whine, easy to shift(like butter), and it was less expensive than having my last one rebuilt
