Tach Wire?

So, I ordered my ZEX kit and Window Switch today. In the installation instructions for programming I have three options:

1. Individual coil per cylinder system where the TACH wire is connected to the coil
2. Coil packs that fire in pairs (waste spark systems) and the TACH wire is connected to the coil
3. The TACH wire is connected to the tach from the engine electronic controller or distributor

So, which one? I remember reading the tach signal wire is the orange/white wire near the ECU, but I didn't think it was actually the ECU -- it was something else I though. Can anyone help?

Just in case anyone searches for this, the tach wire is in fact orange with a white stripe. Pull off the passenger side kick panel, there's a bundle of wires against the firewall -- it's in there. It should be the only orange wire there.
