Tail Light Problems

Ok so i just moticed that when i turn my lights on the tail light turn on but if i apply the brake they dont get any brighter. So that tells me that the bulbs are good but idk what could be wromg. do u guys know? its a 95 i know the lights look different than 96-98 but i dont know if the wiring is same.

the brakes dont. i didnt even check the blinkers

Have you exchange tail lights?if not than you have 94-95 tails, it uses different wiring to have the 96-98 on there.

Also there a short out somewhere,i believe.

it has the stock 95 tail lights on there. i just checked and the blinkers work. Could it be a fuse or a relay?

I think it is under the dash mounted tword the top of the brake pedal

I'm not sure if this is the same thing, but I'll type it anyhow! About a year ago I noticed it was hard to put into gear from Park, auto. At the sane time, I was driving a lot more than I am now. I use cruise all the time! When I would come into a town, it would not turn off when I hit my brakes! I had no idea what was causing this! I back in everywhere I go to park. I happened to park in front of some windows and I could see the ass end of my car. When I pressed my brakes, no lights at all!! I then went to my mechanics. Where rio94 said, on top of the pedal, there is some kind of a wire there! It plugs into something that tell your lights to come on, I think. It came undone! He put that back in, and all problems were solved! Just look there, I guess!

I let the guy who does everything to my car work on it. I was in the pass seat though! He was not down there for long though.

I have a 5spd and the cruise wont turn off unless i push the clutch in! i crawled under there and found the wires and every thing was pluged in! so i dont know???

Well i took it to autozone of all places, and the guy there was really nice and figured it out for me. The switch is good but the female end of the conector is worn out. so i need to go to ford tomorrow and get the female side of the conector! sure its going to be like
25$ or more for that little thing, but atleast the chances of being rearended will go down!
