In a 96GT...Installing an autometer temp gauge. I plan on installing the sending unit in one of the existing ports in the intake. There's 2 ports, I know 1 goes to the factory gauge and 1 to the computer. Does anyone know which sender goes to the factory gauge???

THANKS 8)

I figured it out...the pass side sender goes to the factory gauge.

there is a port near the drivers side motor mount also...you COULD run both gauges.

got it running with the autometer...ran at around 210+ in some stop and go traffic...didn't cool off much on the way home...is that normal temp?

edit>>>the fan doesn't come on until around 210, so i guess it is normal.

cool...thanks.

I did put in a 180 t-stat. It takes a little longer to reach 210, but once i get stuck at a light it gets up there. I'll look into getting a tuner to lower the fan turn-on temp. 210 is a little high for me.

is there any cheaper options to do that besides the $400 handheld tuners?

I think you can get a separate thermostat for the cooling fans...I had one on my 93 cobra, it had a thermostat that went into the fins of the Rad, and had a knob to adjust when it comes on. I just cant remember what it was called ???
