Temp Solution for hole in Tailpipe

So, I have a sizeable hole about 16" in on one of my tailpipes.

I was thinking about wrapping it for now but would that make any difference? Performance or sound wise?

Or should I just cut them off and slap on new ones?

My wallets got real thin lately with this car
