Well for awhile now the my temperature guage that normally is around the "rm" in normal. Well sometimes I see that it will slide all the way over to the L for a few minutes and then it will come back to the "rm" again and this process repeats but at different rates. What do you guys think it could be? Water pump? T- stat?

Well thanks ryclef, as oppose to the other two guys who only know how to say get a real guage instead of trying to help with the problem at hand.

Getting a real gauge is the first step in identifying if you actually have a problem.

Whether or not if it was a shitty idea to not put a number guage in the car was fords idea. However the gauge normally stays in the very center. Atleast it did for a long time before it started doing this stuff. So shitty gauge or not, it is reading high and then going to normal every so often. If you would like to buy me a "real gauge" and fly over to baltimore and install it for me. Please feel free.

Bad OEM gauges and sending units are a known problem. You could spend a lot more time;money and experience a lot more frustration trying to identify a gremlin with the OEM gauge or what might appear to be a cooling problem than simply buying a cheap water temp gauge at the auto parts store. Further, you would have a better understanding of what is actually happening inside the engine if you have a reliable gauge.

As far as buying one for you and installing it - you can get one for a song at the parts store, and installing it is done with simple hand tools in an hour or so.

Yea don't have to buy an expensive one, they have one at advance auto parts for like 20 bucks from ampro. You go from there and it includes everything you need to install.
