I was involved in a head on collision in Lexington, SC at about 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon. It was me and a friend in the car, wife and baby were at home. We have both made it home from the hospital already, both suffering from some nice seatbelt/airbag bruising and quite a bit of all-over soreness, but all things considered..., we are very lucky to get to walk out of the hospital on our own. The people from the other vehicle were not as lucky and suffered many broken bones, both will be going to surgery first thing in the morning. The accident was faulted to the other driver as he came over in our lane and sent me and Aaron for the worst ride of our lives. I'd rather it be me & him instead of a car full of kids or someone with underlying health issues who couldn't have survived such traumatic event. I consider myself lucky to be sitting in my house typing this tonight. Please keep the others vehicle's passengers in your prayers that they make as good a recovery as possible.

Needless to say, I will NEVER put my wife & kid in a minivan after seeing, first hand, how they stand up to a crash. The floorboard of the van completely collapsed on impact, smashing the driver's leg so violently that his tibia and fibula snapped and shot out the side of his leg. We are currently looking to get another Expedition, because I honestly believe, had I been in any other vehicle, I probably wouldn't be doing this well right now.

Again, Please keep the passengers of the other vehicle in your prayers as they are pretty seriously hurt. One was ejected the and other was entrapped in the vehicle, neither were wearing a seatbelt.

I would have expected the van to get the worst of it as the suv looks bigger/heavier.

Glad to hear you are ok from it.

100% agree with you on this, imagine what the damage would of been if you were driving in a little Kia or Hyundai?

Glad to hear you guys made it ok after seeing the wreck pics

Jesus, i'm glad to hear you guys are ok. My prayers are with you and for the people in the other vehicle.

I drive a 1998 Expedition daily and i'm glad to see how well they hold up in this type of crash.

Yeah... mine was a 98 as well, Eddie Bauer with almost every option Ford offered. I think we have found a great deal on a 99 loaded Eddie Bauer to replace this one; now just waiting on the vehicle check from the insurance company...

We had almost come to a complete stop by the time they hit us... We were riding down the road and we saw the van cross over into our lane about 1/8m ahead of us, right away I started slowing down and laid on the horn; I just knew they would snatch the van back over into their lane. It was a small backroad, wooded on either side with not more than 2-3 foot of shoulder, so I had nowhere to go. The van just continued in our lane and slammed right into the front of us... there was nothing I could've done and me and my best friend just starred at the van as it happened, my last thoughts before they hit us were, "We are probably going to die..."

Single most scariest moment of my life!

That is a nasty hit. Did the other driver fall asleep? Glad to hear that you are o.k.

From what the HP officer told my grandmother (who was at the scene taking pics for evidence in case we have to sue)... The driver was swatting at a yellow-jacket, not paying attention to the road.

Suprised it wasn't updating their Facebook status while driving.... TOO much of that happens around here.. Thankfully it is now

i was in a very similar accident. the driver of the other car didn't make it. the passenger was okay and so was the 9 month old in the back. she had to be medivaced to the hospital but she made it out okay. my fender was peeled back like a banana all the way to the back passenger door of my explorer. i made it out fine like you but it was a very traumatic experience.

Wow... just Wow... My accident I had yesterday is no where NEAR as bad is this. Glad your ok, that looked like a hard hit. Those expeditions are SOLID vehicles, I work on them some times and there are tanks lol. Yesterday must have been a bad-luck day for us SN95 members getting into collisions, God sent people to take us down yesterday :(.

If I were in your place, I would wait until the driver of that van can walk again..... and then break his legs again.

P.S. What's up with all the accidents this week?
As I said, us members at SN95forums must have a hitlist out there, 3 members in 1 week, I know me and boosted are not at fault, not sure on replica's situation. I swear, someone is out to get us!
