Okay, so last night I was taking it up the RPMs in 3rd gear about to slam into 4th... I go into 2nd for a split second and take it out. I heard a snap and lost power steering.... I knew right away it was the belt....no big deal.. I pull over to pull the belt off and limp it home like that...
I noticed red fluid all over the place... shit. Transmission fluid...
I hop in the car... start it up and push the clutch in to put it in 1st.... it would not go in any gear..
I turn the car off put it in 1st and then turn it on.... car jumps forward...
Clutch wasn't doing shit I guess.. I limped the broken car home like that..
I get home and look... oh sweet its not tranny fluid... it's power steering fluid.
I guess the belt snapped and maybe split the p/s line? I haven't looked too far into it.
I look at the tranny and between the flex plate or whatever I see pieces of something... looked like it was off the clutch or pressure plate.
I am thinking my SPEC 3 is toast.... and my car grinded EVERYTIME I shifted to 5th gear.... no matter what... full throttle.. babying it.... it didn't matter.
I have been looking into doing a T56 or TKO600.... I hear TKO600s don't like to rev high.. and the T56 is just pretty damn expensive.
Anyone buy a Promotion Powertrain T45?
That paired with a 11 Mcleod Kit (supposedly good to 650hp)
$389 for the clutch kit and $1390 for the beefy T45....
$1800 for a clutch kit and beefy transmission where as the T56 alone is more than that...
BTW: The car is a drag car only.... just a weekend toy... I don't need the 6th gear from the t56 for highway cruising..
