and no not a TKO tranny...

So I am out at the hang out tonight...2nd time out and lot's of guys trying to hustle me into a race...

This guy came up to me and asked if I wanted to run his buddies Trans am that he just got done working on..

Full bolt ons / Gears / Cam / 150 shot

The owner comes finally and says he'll run and told me he had a 100 shot... :dw:

lol @ bull shitters...

Anyhow, I say screw it I'll run.. (even though for some reason my cars only been boosting 5psi)

We line up ... go from a dig and I spin till the end of 2nd.... with him around 2 cars back.... go through 3rd and hes creeping up... hit 4th... hes about a car back.... and then I WOT shift 5th.... and shut down. Battery light came on, smoke came in through the dash etc etc....

I just assumed it was another belt snapped....

I look under neith and theres A LOT of oil everywhere...All in the drivers wheel well, running down the rim.... etc etc.

It would turn on and idle just fine.... no clacking no tapping no rough idle.... (we drove it on a trailer)

Just got done putting it in the garage....

When I turn the car on the oil gauge didn't move... is that ran off the belt or was that telling me my oil pump took a dump?

Any ideas? I'll probably start looking into it tomorrow....

Either way the car will be down for a few months.. I'm selling the S-Trim and my Bogarts to help fund the Turbo kit...

well the oil pump isnt powered by the belt, so the no pressure has nothing to do with the belt.

It's hard to say exactly what happened without seeing it... but the stock pumps are bad about cracking gears, so its a possibility.

I wonder if the oil lines to the blower are still attached...

Im not sure that if the oil pump gave out it would shoot oil all over like that. Just depends on the situation, i'd love to come look at it Sunday, and im off tuesday/wednesday.

My guess was going to be the oil feedline for the blower.
I was thinking the same thing, but are not most blowers "internally lubricated" unlike turbos, or is that just Pro Chargers???

ProChargers are and so are some new ones from Paxton. I think I would also check oil return lines.

If you have nothing on your gauge ill bet the sending unit blew off. That would put oil everywere. Start with the obvious first.

Im not sure, I know my Paxton wasnt. I had a feedline from the oil pan.

Thanks. I was pretty much under the impression that everyone and their mom wanted that car though. You are definitely keeping it if youre planning this much work.

Well my buddy Leroy and I did a lot in a little time.. about a hour or so..

The complete vortech setup is off the car along with the intercooler...

Turns out the oil feed line to the blower got hit by the belt and that's why it was squirting like crazy... :D

Something SIMPLE.. but the kit is off and I am still going with a Hellion kit..
