Just polling the group, how many of you have had your trip odometers crap out on you?

I'm about to fix mine... has been inop since I got the car. (The real mileage odo still works, just the trip odo has died)

Seems to be a common 94-98 problem from what I read.

Well... Just installed the odo gear using this tutorial:

http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=605742&highlight=wtf+my+odometer+stoped

Did it all "by the book," used a little Vaseline on the gear upon installation. Odo is still inop. Odo reset button does not depress easily- and it doesn't feel like it goes all the way down- I wonder if something is up with the odo itself.

Real miles odo still works fine.

when i bought my car the odo, trip odo, and speedo didn't work. turns out something along the lines of the speedometer driven gear
inside the transmission was not in the proper placement in the tranny, so when i installed the TKo, it all worked just fine.

That's weird that all of that would have failed at the same time.

My trip odo is confusing the crap out of me, put about 60 miles on it after installing the new gear it is still not working. BTW the old gear was fine- no teeth were chipped off- why is the trip odo still inop?

(Grr if I have to buy another cluster!!)
