Well early this morning(Saturday) i headed to my home town in Ala. The 3hr trip was going good. I was cruising down I85 South doing about 65mph and my oil pressure gauge went SOUTH and Neva came back. I started to hear this sound chirp, chirp chirp. I let off & the sound gets louder. I head to an exit ramp, get half way up it and she shuts off. I coast off the ramp to an closed gas station. Long story short i get towed from Lanette Al to Columbus Ga for $125.00(good deal) I have a cousin that has a auto shop there. Hes going to repair my car. I just need to figure out what I'm going to do. As for my cousin i knew he was into racing but i had no idea. I get to his shop and i find hes a Serious Mopar Man. Hes got several cars, his friends are there they have race cars their working on. I will admit I'm bummed about my car but, i couldn't have asked for things to work out any better. Now i gotta figure out what i want!!!!

Dude! Are looking at gas mileage with this car or not? You can build you a badass 460 for a decent price and have tire shreading horsepower and torqe on mild engine combo!

It actually is not that expensive to do LOL When i say mild I mean mild. I know a guy that runs at our track up here with a 460 in a 4 eye. Junkyard truck block, the forged pistons, rods and crankshaft. A very mild cam and he runs 5.0's consistently on motor.

Ummm yeah... George Howard hasn't built a 1/4 mile track in Huntsville yet. We are still 1/8th mile unlike you luck SOB's with MMP!! But 5.0's in the 1/8th mile is Smoking!!!!

Thanks for giving the thread back....them Bama boys...""sheesh"" i tell you!!!!

I want a fun street car. It wont be Daily Driven but if i choose to it needs to be able to deal with ATL traffic, i really dont wanna give up my A/C. I would like it to be able to handle a short road trip every now and then. As far as power, of course i want a BEAST! Naa, it just need to be able to hold its own on the street. Not that i would ever ever street race. Im looking at Crate Motors soo, where can i get the best deal?

IMO crate motors are overpriced. If your cousin has a garage you would cheaper to pay him to build your motor versus the cost of a crate motor.

here is the url http://www.rnhperformance.net/wst_page2.html

i talked with rick a lot about building a motor but it just didnt happen (money plus my motor was recently rebuilt before i picked it up). He knows what he is doing and has built motors for lots of people

My cuz said he'd get with some Ford guys he knows and see what he could make happen. The Crate is just the Best way i know to make something happen. I hate she went down but where & when it happened is perfect. I totally trust my cousin i know he wont screw me over. He did ask what i wanted to spend? we both were in such a hurry that day we didnt get to talk about it any more. Ive recentlly been spending a bit of money in the car which has taken the savings down a bit. Now im on MISSION to save every penny i can. I would wanna spend more that 5K on a Engine...

crate motors are very overpriced but i understand your reasoning behind getting the package deal you know you can get it done....my 408 is almost 2 years with basically no progress every time i try to invest money something else needs it ...im almost decided to do bolt-ons to the 5.0 until she goes then figure out what to do ...
