Aren't you close to splitting that block yet?

a 5.0 would at 450+ but a modular 4.6/5.4 can take up to 1000+

where did you get your numbers at?? the 5.0 seems about right but everything i have researched says a 4.6 is about tapped around 600-650...

go on MF and around to a couple sites like powerhouse. The blocks can take it, seen to many teksid and iron and wap blocks go past the 1000hp mark. Its all about the tune and the internals. Theres a 98 saleen/gt on MF making 840 and hes not done. I'll be 1000+ in the next year

same can be said about 5.0's then ...i have seen them exceed 500

From what I have heard and seen on two occasions the Kenne Bell for the L's is an ok choice because it has a few downfalls to the design. IMO, if your going to go through with a blower I would definitely wait and save til you can get a Whipple. Whipples on these trucks are just amazing. The biggest reason I would go with the whipple is not all because of its easier maintenance and all around function, it is because is runs so much more efficiently when compared to the kenne Bell. Just giving you another prospective to what we see down here in the HALO Club (Houston Area Lightning Owners).

Man I will say your truck with what you have should run like a bat out of hell. You should run pretty solid in the mid 12's with the power you are shooting for. Then if you were to add another blower it will really scream. Its not easy getting in the 11's, thats for damn sure on these trucks (Damn Farm Trucks) without getting slicks and a few other things.....lol Alot of people find that out the hard way getting heart broken b/c it doesn't run as fast as they thought it would.

Good Luck man, I cant wait to hear what that bad boy sounds like with those headers.

oh me to, theres a couple 5.0s running around that are about 800hp on a stock block, problem is, they tend to split right down the middle and destroy the entire motor eventually. 4.6s dont require a girdle or any type of strengthening to the block to exceed 500hp.. there only weak point is the rods in just about all factory motors, except the ford GT of course. Realize, a gt 500 is 550 hp bone stock, if the block was close to breaking point, i don't think ford would have slapped that out on there frontline

slicks AND skinnies are going on when I go to the track, I wouldnt DREAM of taking this thing to the strip on my Dragradials or worse street tires :hammer: :hammer: Im going 2.3 Kb short term because of the fact that its a direct replacement blower for the eaton. NOTHING else has to be touched as far as blower componets go. Of course you should step up injectors and pumps, but that a given anyway. Then when I decide to go with a built bottom end, i may very well go BIG whip on this L.

I feel pretty sure I will be in the very LOW 12's when I finally get to the track,......I would NOT rule out a 11 either, if I do some weight reduction ( tail gate / pass seat-middle / spare tire / tow package .......) Ill be happy with a 12.20 or so, thats pretty common for my set up :)
