Ive only worked on 03/04 cobras so i dont ahve much experience with gt's but they are pretty simple to work on. My sn hell i had the motor dropped out in just over an hour to do my valve seals.

If you go 4v like a mach 1, then your gonna get a car that runs pretty smooth, youcan spin it to the moon ie liek 7k and with gear, long tubes and stickys, degreed cams you could run 11's

My 2v I love, its pretty simple, its just about as basic as you can get. Havent had any ford issues with the car (had a few a/m ones) but other then that its a good power plant. even now the 3v's are really good motors too.

If you decide to get a gt, and want a 5.4 you can do that like nothing, the blocks are the same just a higher deck height, and a diff intake manifold and its basically it. (ovb some other thigns need to be swapped)

I'd love to get a 4v... just don't know if money will let me since they are a lot more expensive than 3v... It costs a lot more to mod a 4.6 tho doesnt it?

its not cheap, i got the patriot heads cams and frpp intake manifold and it was prob like 2500 or 3k in parts i dont really remember ... but i have 300 hp na so its kinda a trade off, pay more for the car up front and get more power, or pay less and pay more to mod.. (ovb i didnt put a p/a on which is the most cost effective way)

Pay more up front for what? A 4v? or Less for a 3v and than mod it? What's p/a mean?

pay more for a 4v then you would a 2v (cobra/mach vs a gt) and then pa is power adder

I've heard the 2v's are pretty pricey to get power out of unless you throw a power adder on them. 3v is supposed to love mods though.

With a 2v 99-04, can you throw a set of 4v heads on them? Will that make it a 4v motor if you do that?

This is the beauty of a Modular set up .... say I just baught a motor... like a cobra motor from 96... and I watned that in my car, all i would have to do to make it work is swap the timing cover, put my 2v heads on it, cover up the kock sensor, drill a hole and bam im done!!! MODULAR hahah great idea huh?

Better breakdown:

95 - Death of the 5.Slow
96-98 GT - Non-PI heads 220-ish hp
99-04 GT - PI(Performance improved) heads 280-ish hp
05+ GT - 3v per cylinder heads with VVT (variable valve timing) 300-315 hp

96-98 Cobra - 4v per cylinder "B" heads - split port and complicated setup
99/01 Cobra - 4v per cylinder "C" heads - more simple design restoring low end torque lost in the B head
03/04 cobra - 4v per cylinder "E" heads - since the car is boosted to begin with... best responding heads to boost

All the blocks are the same in the above examples. Except the GT has an iron block and the Cobra's have aluminum blocks. also as a side note... the 1996-1997.5 cobras had a teskid block which is a special type of aluminum that they used on Ferrari's or something like that

PS- if i'm being mis-lead on anything someone feel free to correct me.
