Should have gotten a Prochamber :tongue3:

Mustang Mark said:looks like an x pipe in a box.
of course it will gain power over stock, all midpipes will going from six? cats to none. (talking about their dyno data)

2 cats on a 302, not 6.
2 pre-cats & 2 catalytic converters

Mustang Mark said:my bad, so regalar cats to high flow cats.
not doubting you, just their data is flawed.
you misunderstood me, i ment first test they did was with stock cats on the stock mid pipe, but the second is with high flow cats on their mid pipe. what im trying to say is most of the gains were due to having high flow cats on their mid pipe vs the restrictive ones on the stock mid pipe.LAFENATU said:Mustang Mark said:my bad, so regalar cats to high flow cats.

The whole idea of pre-cats is they are designed to heat up the converters quicker. The stock factory converters are not even close to hi-flow aftermarket converters.
NXcoupe said:Oh, and 5.0 mustangs or MM&FF did an article years ago, where they took a stock fox with stock exhaust and put different cat backs on it, and then different off road and high flow mid pipes of the X, H and PC variety. Hate to spoil it, but the ProChamber made the most power and the MAC cat back was tied just about with another company's cat back. It was an independant test, with all manufacturers at the time, BBK, MAC, bassani, Borla, etc, contributing parts to be tested. It was informative and well worth finding if you can.
