a SBC into the 96 GT..... it's just sitting in the corner of the shop, dyno'd at 576hp on 93 octane and I already got a K-member and headers for it? What do you think? I know you are all partial to the 4.6 and such, but for the money it would cost me to make the stock motor do this, I can just toss a Pro CHarger onto the motor I already got for some MAJOR HP #'s.

Now I just dont know if I should do it to the 96 seeing it has 66K miles on it, or if I should sell it, go get me a chaep v6 car and do the build with it? Any thoughts other than I am going to bastardize a mustang.

I'm not a big fan of cross breeding makes and models of cars, but if you were set on it, i would go with your idea of
selling the 96 gt and getting a V6 to do it with. might be kinda a bish to get it to work, but its your project. :santa_afro:

Not really, i can make the trans crossmember myself for the TH350, and I will just order the PA racing K-member w/SBC mounts, other than that, all it will take is a main power to the starter, and some wiring for the MSD box, but that is really it. I will replace the stock cluster with the autometer one and put all new gauges in there, other than that, it's all done... quite simple actually, almost easier than a head swap to tell ya the truth.

if it's just sittin' there...man, why not put that in a s-10... i love the thought of a v8 s-10 and I know it can be done, if you can put it in a stang you could probably put it in a s10...that'd be hot, but you'd have to have a really good suspension set up or race from a roll...

Is this gonna be a race car? If so, go for it man.

No, I am steering away from the "race car" theme. i already have 2 drag cars, and DONT want another one! Thats why I sold the S-10 cause it had a full cage and ladder bar suspension. I'm wanting to build a quick (mid 11's) car that I can take to Cali if I wanted to, or the Hot Rod Power Tour.

Who knows, i might even toss EFI on this one?

Since you got the motor, I would look for a V6 rolling chassis and put that motor in. I think you would come out better in the long run. I always wanted to get a Camaro and put a SBF in it LMAO

I'm all for using whatever you got and whatever it takes to get the job done. That said, if the car is truly nice, unload it on someone who want's it for what it is, and use a shell no one cares about anyway to make your bastard. Somewhere is someone who would love to have it, you know? Kinda like all the old guy stories about the 69 Chevelle with a 396 that they scrapped, or made a dirt track car out of, or whatever.

I say do that shit....Fast is fast. end of story. I don't believe in talking trash about putting a chevy motor in a ford or vice versa. I'm not here for loyalty, I'm here for PERFORMANCE in any shape or form. I say take the SBC put it in your stang and to be different put a holley stealth ram intake on it. EFI FTW. my two pennies.

Nice! I have a buddy with a 93 notchback with little ole 355 in it. Took it for it's first run down the track and ran 6.60 in the 1/8 spinning the whole way. Definitely a very fast car but it is a straight race car.

Here is a roller close to me in Alabama http://huntsville.craigslist.org/car/513663536.html that I think would be good for what you are wanting to do.
