ersonally to me it's not even a cobra r anymore. just another cobra with the wheels and hood. only difference is it has 700 hp. oh and btw....i believe ford made this car for road racing. so way to be a frickin idiot and destroy one of the rarest cars ford has dished out. now it's only 249 out of 249 built in my opinion fellas.

I'm with the op, I don't understand why you would buy something like this and change most of the stuff that makes it a Cobra R. It's like buying a termi and putting a turbo and a solid axle under it, tubbing it, jerking out all the interior, putting an auto in it and going drag racing. Buy something else if thats what you want

exactly. why didn't he just buy a gt for WAAAAY less and do all of that to it. he could have painted it white, put some replica cobra r's on it. put the hood on it and the motor in it. done. idiot.

if i remember correctly they built that car for road racing, and i would still drive it if i had one. but damn it....it's 1 of 250....all it is is another modded cobra now in my opinion. and back in the day....that 5.8l was a beast. especially compared to a 95 cobra.

I know somebody that ran a brand new (under 50 miles) 1993 R right off of turn 1 at Road Atlanta. Sad to say the least.

Cars are meant to be driven and not to sit on a collectors show room. Do you think Ford really wants to make all these special package racing cars and then not see them put to use? (actually i'm sure they just care about profit) How would you like it if you took the days/months involved in designing these cars to be an ultimate road warrior, and then everyone that bought them put them up in climate controlled storage and your hard work was practically never put to the test? Little bit of a slap in the face don't you think? I love the fact that someone, probably a mustang lover like ourselves, had the money to buy one of these rare cars, and put it to the ultimate test, of swapping motors and still beating the snot out of it. Just because it has an extra letter added to the end of the name, doesnt mean it should be treated differently than any other mustang.

Second, what's your opinion on the fact that lexus is requiring new owners to lease the car for 2 years before they are allowed to own the title in order to make sure that the new owners actually drive the car instead of just throwing it in climate control for x amount of years?

i didn't say a damn thing about not driving it. but swapping motors and drag racing it? it wasn't meant for that. if i had one i would be at infineon raceway with it every weekend hitting the road course. that's my point. it wasn't built for that purpose.

Who gives an eff if you swap a motor for a better one? Faster one? What about the people that are swapping irs' into sn cobras? Is that blasphemy too? Likke mark said, its plastic and metal. Id turbo the ff out of one if I had it.

i feel like if you actually did own one....you'd be saying something different. not saying i wouldn't drive the car but why change the motor and all. not saying you can't do stuff to what it already has....but shit....once you get rid of that motor....wtf maakes it a cobra r anymore in the first place?

Suspension, beefed up oil cooler and radio, lack of air conditioning, back seats, and stereo. The certificate that says it's a cobra R. It's still gonna be a cobra r no matter what you do to it. Just like how my gt is going to a gt whether I leave it stock or shove a 2jz in it. I understand maybe it'd be different if I owned one but I guess what I don't understand is why you're knocking a guy for wanting to go faster?

Your kidding me right? Your butt hurt that someone modded an R? If it werent for people like him modding these pony cars, they more than likely would not exist today. Props to him on a bad @ss build

I don't care if a car is 1 of 1, or 1 of 5,000,000,000. I'm still gonna mod and drive the shit out of it lol.

In the end all cars are the same they're just peices of metal that are gonna rust and fall apart eventually.
