but I have a CAMARO question!!

:laughing4:

Ok! here goes! a few of us are arguing this matter and I THINK I'm right but can't find the proof other then youtube vids...

here's the Question:

Did the 1996 RS Camaro come in a v6 with an optional v8 or was it JUST a v6 3.8L?

I know a 98 RS Camaro came in both 3.8L V6 and the 5.7L V8 lol

:BangHead: I hate being wrong lol but can anyone please help?? :angel4: lol thank you!

You could get the Z28 obviously in a V8 but with a RS body package. Hope that answers your question.

lol well I know Z28's only came in a V* being the "Z28" lol

"Z" package "2" wheel drive "8" cylinder

but I used to own a 1992 RS and it only came in 305's or a 350 but with out t-tops

and agreed DropTopPony, I actually like this kit (Neon's) but I was never a neon person lol

but this is the latest kit out and i love it!

The RS ONLY had the V6. You could get a Z28 with the RS body kit, but the RS did not come with a V8

I used to have a 92 RS (25th An) with a 305

my understanding was that if it was a v8 with t tops it was a 305, if it was a hard top it was a 350

as far as the 98 RS it was a 5.7L 350 but I'm not sure as far as the 96 RS, i'm starting to think they only came in a 3.8L V6 with NO optional V8 engine

No, no, no.

The 3rd gens are different. The RS in the 3rd gen could come with a 305 V8, either hard top or t-tops. The 3rd gen 350 cars only came with automatics, no 5-speeds. The 305 cars could have either the autos or 5 speeds.

4th gen (93-02) cars were separate from 3rd gens. Like already said, RS was V6 only. SS and Z28 were V8s. Z28 was available with the RS body kit..but that was ground effects, that's it. Not sure if the SS was available with that or not.

93-97 V8 Fbodys had the LT1. 98-02 V8 Fbodys had the LS1. That simple

Nothing wrong with neons as long as they are done right. I had them on my '74 Chevy Nova and on my '99 S-10 Extreme.
