Thoughts on a "New Project"

I currently have a built 4.6 bored and stroked to a 5.0 8.5.1 compression and a procharger D1sc currently putting down mid 700 range. I really want to throw a STS Twin setup on and push like 7-10lb towards the procharger but not sure about it... thoughts on the car and what i should do... I wont go through a huge build list and all, but just a basic run up..
Procharger D1sc 8 rib conversion, 2.9 pulley, and snow performance meth injection kit...

Post pics of the current setup. That sounds neat. Got some dyno sheets?

I don't have the dyno sheets with me, they are all back in the states and i'm stationed in South Korea.. but i can post some pictures and a few start up videos... that is all i have on my laptop

this was before I left, car had to go back and get a final tune while i was here so i've yet to drive it. It made 772 hp and 683 tq.

this is pretty much the final install picture I just had to put injectors in, but you can see the meth injection nozzle on the intake pipe, the actually pump is hidden in the driver side fender well and i used my old windshield wiper fluid holder to hold the meth.

I wouldn't bother changing stuff. I've driven one car with over 700 to the tires... it was plenty for little old me. :grin:

i'm thinking about changing over to cops but i'm not sure how this done or how hard it is but i'm considering it to get rid of having my coils in the way...

Why? If the car runs fine and makes that kind of power - why mess with it?

What kind of fuel system do you have? What size injectors and what are you using to control them? What fuel rails? How much boost?

25 lbs of boost, 60 lb injectors 255 pump on AFM external pump upgraded ss lines to fuel rail and Aeromotive fuelrails.. and snow kit

Damn. That's a ton of boost. What's the duty cycle on those injectors at when you're on a "max effort" pass? That's got to be approaching the limit somewhere.


What kind of power does it make on pump gas?

it's all on pump gas, :) and the injectors are at 90% duty cycle which isn't reccommended but it'll be fine. i gained probably 80+ just off the snow kit, i saw HUGE temp drops and it allowed us to pull a lot more timing without getting detonation so pump gas went really far... +1 for 93 oct.

i've yet to run race fuel because it scares me to push my motor anymore.. it's 1000 hp cap motor but i prefer not getting closer to that number.

Holy crap. That's nuts. I can't believe you're making 25 psi work with pump gas. Better hope that meth kit never fails or BOOM! LOL

That's cool man.



I wish we had 93 octane in Phoenix. :(

na actually i did 2 tunes, one is with no meth (less timing of course) and the 2nd one is a meth tune, if for some reason my meth kit does fail it'll show me and then from there i'll just pull over switch tunes and drive on lol...

i'm a firm believer in procharger took about a day to install the kit, and i'm maxing out the d1sc, about time for a F1a lol

And your not happy with 700RWHP? DAMN!

Your actually making pretty much the same numbers with the D1SC than a local kid I know, whos got a cogged F1A on his 2v and tuned for C16 race fuel.

Next project, How about an F1A blower upgrade? OR Go with a 4v 4.6 and an F1A?

I guess a 50 shot of the nitrous would really wake things up.

If i change motors i'm going 5.4 dohc and twin turbo... but low compression and the d1sc really is maxed out so a F1X is the only way to get more power out of it... but i think i might junk the entire setup and go twin turbo lol..

i know double post, but i finally figured out what i'm going to do... i'm going to leave it how it is... and i'm going to use the money instead to go 03 cobra interior (the car is black tan interior) and i'm going to get the gray/black seats and then black carpet and take all my tan dash parts and make them black along with maybe going with an 03 center console... black seat belts :)

just thought i'd update lol...

on the search for 03 cobra seats anyone know of any?
