The Saleens look good, but with the 03 Cobra's I'll be able to save at least $100 every time I buy tires, have better traction (315/35/17 vs 285/35/18), and also be lighter. I currently am running 11.4 at the local track (it is only 1000ft, not the full 1/4). I'd like to be in the 10's. The 03's make more sense because they will help me do that without having to get a set of tires/rims just for the strip. Tire price is the main thing. I've looked at pics of his car on SVTperformance, love it. I'm not sure how mine would look since it isn't near as low. Do you guys think the 03's are a big enough improvement over stock to justify them? Plan is to one day get a new dd and garage the Mystic, but that could be a few years. When that time comes, Saleens may be an option.

I absolutely hated the 03 Cobras until I finally saw the Mystic pictured above with the chrome ones. I've got pics of most of the common rims, so if you guys have any suggestions, such as the ones above, just let me know, I'll see if I can find a pic, the we'll discuss. 18's, as hot as they may be, are out due to tire pricing. Thanks everyone!

IDK, still not liking the black. If every couple years you guys all wanna paypal me some money, 18's sound great! With college to pay for, paying for everything myself (I paid for the car, pay my own insurance, etc), an extra 100-200 every time I need tires is out of the question. My question for you guys is do the Chrome 03's look that much better than the stockers to justify the swap? The 03's have good looks, better traction, and cheaper tires, so what's not to like imo. Just need some others. For comparison, here are a variety of pics of Mystics with different rim combos. Let me know if there is one you guys prefer over the 03 Cobras.

I was thinking chrome bullitts, but the I saw the pic and I don't like them on a mystic. Try black bullitts with a polished lip. But the chrome 03's look good.

LOL, just for reference. I first had decided on the 95 Cobra R's, but then I decided not. I'm pretty sure my new rims will be the 17 03 Cobras, just gonna wait a while to see how the Nittos like this cold weather. Thanks, and any more opinions are appreciated.

Long story about the sizing, but in short I will need a tire that can be driven year round, in temps down to the teens. I'm not sure my Nitto 555's will work for the winter months. If they will, I'll get the 10.5's, but if not, I'll have to switch to an all season tire, and the widest I can find is 275. The only thing keeping me from Saleens is tire price, not really the cost of the rims. I can't see spending 700+ on tires. If the majority thinks the Chrome 03's are a very nice upgrade from stock, that's what I'll do. If the majority thinks that I should stay stock because there isn't that big of a change, I'll save the money or use it for other mods. Thanks!
Nice to see another Arkie on the boards!
Another chrome 17 that you haven't considered (I'm trying to make it harder for you!) is the Saleen SC style wheels. 50resto.com has 'em in dd. I have a pic of these wheels saved, but can't figure out how to post pix on this upgraded forum. They also have Sumitomo HTRZ tires in size 17/315 for like $140! That's a really hard price to beat, and somewhere on this forum there's a whole discussion devoted to these tires -supposedly they're really good -especially for the price.

17 inch Saleens just don't look right IMO. Those Saleen SC's don't look bad, but I'm horrible at picturing wheels, anyone have a pic of them on a car? Thanks!
