Time for paint, what should i be looking for price wise. Im sorry to say but my car is ready for a fresh coat of paint. I guess in 1996 they used bad primer and in turn the paint flakes off. I know i have to take the whole car apart practically to do it right. But how much should I expect to pay for a paint job. And what are some good brands of paint to use.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I was also thinking of doing it myself I have a compressor and water seperators. I guess I would just need to get the gun and paint. I know that about 98% of a paint job is all in the prep. I want to glaze and block sand the car and get her really really straight.

Anyway. Just let me know what you think.

a decent paint job will cost between 1500-2000 dollars where I am, prices may be different in your location, a lot of times it makes a big impact on pricing

price goes up if you get a specially matched custom color or something like that. as long as it's a factory color that should be about what it costs (including door jambs, ect.)

I just got a price from a painter my friend works with, $1200 to spray and fix all the dings. He is gonna do a Base coat and clear coat using Dupont products. I am pretty happy w/ the price.
