Few weeks ago i took my stang for a night on the town, I ended up lining up against a turbo'd mitsubishi eclipse needless to say we ended up racing. I got the hit off the line and took the victory and on the second run i spun to much and the eclipse took the lead... after all was done i thought it was a good night had my v6 mustang beating and keeping up with a turbo'd car, i decited to head home... i woke up the next morning and was about to leave for work and i started her up and she felt rough and choppy and i looked in the mirror and seen white smoke pouring out of the tail pipe ...the following day i pulled the car into the garage and pulled the motor and trans out and started to tear it apart ... needless to say i found out the heads were warpd and i found out i had cracked the 6th cylinder wall in the block :angry4: ( not quite sure how i managed that ) :BangHead: . I have thought hard on what i should do and came to the conclusion to upgrade.... I found a 2001 mustang bullit motor and trans and computer . But i need the help of you guys to help me figure out what else i need to do this upgrade to my car . I am currently trying to find 96 GT rear end and some latter bars to stiffen up the rear end but not sure where to start after that .... all help will be grately appreciated and will post pic's once everything starts rolling along .... thanks

1st off it's ladder bars, not latter

2nd the rear end from the factory is already a 4 point setup so all you will need are better aftermarket upper and lower control arms

Just do it once and throw a 255 in there for the pump and then with the Exhaust unless you know exactly what you want start off with a O/R X or H on a stock Catback then go from there.

So your saying a 7.5 Rear end will hold up to the Abuse of Bullit motor and any future upgrades that he does. I don't thin kit will he might as well step up to the 8.8 to begin with. You can find one out of a GT 94-98 and it will bolt up. I think the 99-04 8.8 is a little wider maybe 1/2" or so. Correct me if i am wrong.

No, I am saying ladder bars are not needed on an 8.8

The upgrade from a 7.5 to the 8.8 is a must, just upgrade the LCA and UCA's and not look into changing the entire design of the rear unless you get seriously into racing of some sort

Like they're saying, I'd swap to a 8.8in rear. I wouldn't worry so much about aftermarket UCAs, but a good set of LCAs would be nice.

8.8s are cheap. I have a housing laying around in the backyard.

the reasoning for wanting "ladder" bars is i want better traction and less wheel hop after i put the motor in, i had alot of traction issue's with only the 4.2 that was in there and im pretty sure that a 4.6 bullit motor will provide me with alot tire hop on hard excell, i will be taking the car out to the strip every so often and eventually be ordering a procharger for the car,

Dude, you don't need ladder bars. People have gone low 7s on stock-type suspension.

I don't know of anyone running ladder bars on Mustangs... at least, not on ones that can still actually be considered a Mustang

It makes no sense putting them on a 4 link car. It's pointless. Double arming a suspension is the most useless thing ever. Alot of wheel hop occurs due to either, not enough power, not enough gear, or to much traction. Put a gear in it, and you will have absolutely no wheel hop.
