Timing Chain/Tensions?

Alright 2v experts. I put this in my build thread but I figured Id put it here too. Ive got a video of it at cold start and after its warmed up for a few minutes. I had a 95 for 7 years so I know nothing about 2v's. My first guess though is timing chains or tensioners. It sounds like a chain and from my understanding the tensioners use oil pressure? When driving I hear no noise except when off the throttle to shift. The car runs fine otherwise and pulls hard.

Lets start like this...Original npi heads? What have you done to the internals?

My car is having a similar issue and I'm pretty sure it's timing chain related... guides and/or tensioners, primarily on the left side. Other than the noise, the car runs and drives fine, it just sounds like a diesel now.

I've been putting off tearing into it because I don't have the desire or the time to mess with it right now. Actually, I kept comp insurance on it and didn't even renew the tags this spring. :deeplist:

The guides do wear on these engines and can get noisy after 15 years. When I had mine apart @ 95,000 miles I was surprised how good everything looked but I did notice some wear on the guides. I just left it alone since I was building a new long block with all new parts.

The valve train can be noisy on modulars also compared to the pushrod cars.
