Hi starting to get my stang back together and just got my PI heads on the block.due to CA smog reasons I have decided to stick with stock cams for now from the PI engine.I threw on some Fidanza cam gears and want to know what degree to set them at??I will be running the venom vcn 1000 dry nitrous kit when its all back together and want to know what shot will go with how I time my cams. Its my stock 98 gt block with 90000 miles, 15000 miles heads and cams, bbk shorty headers, bassani x pipe. Can someone with experience in this field please help me out so I don't screw anything up.also what spark plugs should I go with running nitrous???I have a choice of 25-100 shot with the venom kit just getting info from numerous places so I can come up with something reasonable to run. Thanks

I'm no tuner so I won't comment on that. But as far as the plugs go, run a NGK TR-6 gapped at about .035"
And I would go ahead and run at least the 75 shot.

run 1-2 plugs colder spark plugs... also for timing with nitrous it's better to adjust timing directly through either a timing adjuster, or a tuner. adjusting the cam timing directly like you are talking wont do much..

i'm running Tr-6 on my s/c setup and gapped to .035'' also.. call up NGK tell them your mods and all and they can tell you what spark plug to run and what to gap it at

Install the cams straight up or slightly retarded, for more rpm. Adjustable cam gears can get you into trouble, and not really more than 1 or 2 hp to be found. As for the nitrous, pulling 2 degrees per 50 hp is the rule of thumb. 3 degrees with premium would probably suffice. If you have a tuner/programmer, then you really need to have the tune modified before you hit the switch for the first time. They add a lot more timing and can cause big problems on spray.
