Hello all,

I recently purchased a set of rims for my 95 cobra. The rims are 17x9 and the tires I'm currently running are 255/45ZR17. I would like to use these if able, but was worried about the tire height rubbing. Anyone here running this setup able to help?

thanks,
K.

Moved the thread, this isn't a 94/95 specific engine question.

I believe the recommend size for 17x9 is 255/40/17. I'd say a 45 is fine... Diameter and circ will be about 4% larger. The sidewalls will be a bit thick. I don't think you'll rub unless youre sitting on the ground.

Depends on your wheel offset. I am running 17x9 with 22mm offset, with 255/40 R17s, and Cobra brakes on all 4 corners. No significant rubbing - I had a little on my struts up front before I went coi-overs. Otherwise, no rubbing. 45's should be okay - as Orange said, as long as you aren't slammed.
