Tire growl

I have 17x9 (03-04 cobra's) with sumitomo tires on it. Like 275. Now when I ride down the road they are growling, or atleast that is what it seems like, is it the tires? OR perhaps the front wheel bearings? Anyone else have a problem like this?

is it more of a hum noise, I know some tires have lots of road noise compared to others.

I run BFG KDW Traditional Treads on mine. They are right at silent, for me at least.

I'm not sure what you mean by growl my tires now get this real high pitched humming noise at about 50 mph.

Basically, the ****** sounds like it has snow tires on it!!

If they are new they may be bad take it back and let them check. Even the best tires can be bad I see it all the time.

if you look on tire-rack I think they have a rating for tire noise, mabye there just noisy tires check it out

No they aren't a noisy tire from what it appears. Also when I first put them on the car it did not do it. To be honest I couldnt even say when i really started to hear it. I think it was gradual. So what else could it be? the bearings maybe?

Brakes and rotors were replaced a month after the rims and tires were bought and put on the car. Hawk pads, and ford racing cross drilled and slotted. It did not do it then either.

i wouldn't worry about the sound. I just put on 275 in the front and 315s in the rear and my car sounds like and lifted pick up with super swampers on it. It is the sumitomos because and soon and the went on that was the sound it makes. also the tire is temperature sensitive so if its burning hot out the compound wants to stay to the ground and be sticky. Its the tires so don't be so worried.

That would make sense since I put them on it was last fall or winter. Somewhere around there.
