I have a 95 gt with 245-45-17 tires. I'm getting some 17-9,10.5 wheels.I like the handling of the car. What I need help with is this. Will the car be the same or better handling with 275-40-17 front and 315-35-17 rear?

i have that size tire on front of mine at stock ride height. it follows all the bumps and grooves in the road but does not slide at the front at all. with different tires of same size it has different ride and handling characteristics. is your suspension stock or ? what offset for wheel? if you don't know offset what wheel because someone else may know that wheel and what will work for sure?

for best neutral handling you want either the same size all around or atleast very close to the same. A wider tire in the rear gives you more grip in the rear causing understeer in the front. I run 305's inthe rear and 265's in the front and it handles okbut its more of a drag setup, but i do it for just the look despite the fact that I do more backroad twisties then go to the dragstrip.

Are you sure those tires will fit up front?

Unless his car is slammed it will work. I run 275/45/17's on the front of my car and I have Eibach lowering springs w/ ISO's. I plan on lowering the car a little more too.

The car is all stock but I think the tires will fit. I'm just not sure what I need to do I might just run 17-9s and 275s all around.

If it's all stock you should have zero problems. Might have to flip the quad shock in the rear. I run 275's on 17x9's front and 315's on 17x10.5's rear. With no issues and I'm lowered and run 3 inch tail pipes. I have no quad shocks cause I run aftermarket LCA's.

i should have said i use 275/40/17 on cobra r all the way around. no flipping of quads was needed for that but for 315 in rear you may need to.
