I desperately need new front seats in my car, the last owner trashed mine. I want 03/04 cobra seats but I can't find any for sale and when I can find them they're either disgusting and trashed or they're $1,500 or both. I found the upholstery and foam on CJ Pony Parts for a lot less than buying used seats. I would need new edge seat frames though right? Does anyone know how hard it would be to do this? Do you typically take it somewhere to have them done, or is it something an average person can do? The listing doesn't really explain about installation. Thanks for any info!

Take it to a pro, it's a lot of work and you need specific staples and tool

Liz, you are correct you need 99-04 seat frames for the front and I would suggest getting it done at a upholstery shop. I don't know off hand what the cost is but the thoughts of "skinning" the back seat makes me think that I don't want to attempt that lol.

I've heard that you'd need a different headrest uphostery if you don't have 03-04 cobra seats already because the standard 99-04 frames have a smaller headrest

If you got like v6/gt seat frames, can you put an 03/04 cobra head rest on it? Or can you just use a v6/gt head rest as long as the colors match?

Thanks! For some reason I thought it was just like covers you slip over or something lol. I have a friend that recently graduated from a college doing like custom interiors and stereo stuff. If I can talk him into doing this for me on the side for a reasonable price, I'll definitely be placing an order! It would be awesome to have brand new seats!

That would be your best bet and welcome back

Yeah you will need to order new headrest covers for the 99-04 headrest (sold separately) because they are smaller.

If you can find a set of headrest out of a 03/04 I think you will be good to go but good luck with that.
