Well.. Long story short I busted 2nd gear at the local track. And well 2nd gear isnt much money to fix, and I could drive it if I were to fix it. But This winter, I'm going to convert my car to a full blown drag car if I don't trade it. I really don't want to do that to it because of how nice the car is, but at the same time I feel the need for some low 10 second passes with some turbo spool. Anyways, this is my car:

The question is,To fix 2nd gear and daily til winter, Then minitub, Put a cage, and do some serious weight reduction, and ruin a beautiful car, OR to try and trade to a clean 87-98 Car to daily to school and buy a notch roller and build another motor for it, (Mod motor.)
What would you guys do?

I'm not sure I understand what your asking...mini tub this car, or trade it for a clean daily stang? What would you drive if mini-tubbed this one? Would you be racing the 87-98 as well?

Only reason I wanta do all the crap to this one is because of the shit I get over it, I've been offered to trade to a 410w notch. And also my car is just to nice to ruin. If I keep it I'll end up making it a full blown drag car.. If I trade it to that notch my father won't REALLY care much about minitubbing and a roll cage. cause well.. its already got it in it. and to clarify.. I ment trade to one thats already got a cage And or minitubbing. I'm leaning more towards keeping it and fixing 2nd and trying to find a notch to molest with a cage and minitubbing before winter. I really, really don't want to ruin this car with all the cage crap

If I dont find a fox I can let you guys in on my build I PLANNED on doing to it before I got to thinking.
Minitubbing, 10 pt cage, Twin Precision 70mms OR one Precision 76mm on alot of boost. FTI C4 (already have) 35 spline axles, spool, etc. keeping my 4.30 in it, Stripping interior, 10 gallon fuel cell, etc. Possibly a 1 piece front end to put on it.. All sorts of different stuff that would ruin a beautiful car.

Im going to fix it if I dont work out a deal on the 410w car. By winter I should have a clean fox to molest with a mod motor. Lord I just don't know what to do i feel so stupid

I don't understand the obsession with minitubbing and a cage, plenty of fast cars without either of them

Well, the cage is indeed for the "rules" at a track. Plus I like a meaty tire Lol.. I'll just try to get a Fox to make a drag car out of and keep this GT as a bolt on car with a forged motor. Maybe swap in my ported heads, Get my cams reground for N/A.
