Not exactly a track day, but just some clips from Powercruise USA last weekend:

The track is opened up to cruising around. 100 mph speed limit and no racing through corners. The rules are very loosely enforced, but most people have no idea what they are doing. So it gets sketchy at times. Dangerous passing that isn't allowed in the first place. Random braking. Driving very slowly. And people with more horsepower than they can handle. Most people are there to roll race the straights. I think have some video where I had a clear track, but I don't think I ever got a full lap in.

A few laps from my track day yesterday. I think it's the second full lap (3rd if you include the out lap), I run my personal best. According to the Track Attack phone app it was a 1:59.023. The previous lap was a 1:59.493. I started running 2:01's when I was following the S2000.

Yea, that shit looked pretty sketch. A bunch of newbs on track letting loose without any instruction is scary. And no helmets to boot.

Here's my contribution of something else that is different from the norm. This was my absolute first time on a race track* but in my wife's '05 GT since my '95 GT blew the P/S o-ring out at the last moment before tech inspection.

[*hence the overall low speeds]

And here's where I damn near understeer off the track trying to see if I have any hope of maintaining a gap to a 911 GT3. I see it because I lived it, but I wonder how it looks to other people just watching a replay.

A couple of laps from each race at Hastings last months. Finally picked up a GoPro3, so my videos are presentable. I just did a few laps after the green flag, those are the most exciting. And a little off track excursion at the end. I was on 3 year old RA1 tires to burn them up since Hastings Motorsport Park is so easy on tires. They were definitely getting greasy in the last race.

Trackmaster. I need to figure out the data a bit more and get it in the vids. That will be my off season project.
Have you ever tried Track Attack? I tried it during my last outing. They give you 3 full product sessions as a trial. Only 1 of my 3 sessions worked.

TrackMaster seems a lot more robust. Are you happy with it?

My second day of race group. Started on pole, got blocked in by the BMW just plain not going, then I missed two shifts. Then the E36 slides off track, I thought I forced him off so I let him back by. Then it is a series of mental mistakes followed by a reset button and a "from down town" late brake that I knew would work because the black Cobra never runs a blocking line. Learned that the Maxxis RC1(255) may not be there best race group tire for my set up. The black Cobra is on NT01's (255) and has the full MM catalog. My next purchase is going to be Hoosier R6's. It was a great weekend of learning and I can't wait to be back at it in October.

This was from the other race organization in Arizona, Pro Autosports. I should be doing Comp School in October to get my NASA race licence. The ST3 car is still in the process of being built so I have been a little slow to get the NASA licence. My current car has a roll cage that was built for drag racing, so it doesn't meet the thickness requirements for the weight of the car.

Ran two sessions during this event before I smashed into the back of somebody on my 2nd run. Here's my first session.

And here's my second and last run of the day. My brakes locked up and I clipped the back of a 4 door Audi. No damage to him but my car took a nice hit.
