hi all u guys, i haven't been here in a while due to family issues but i sure have missed it. well here's my situation i currently have a 98 dsg gt coupe basically stock except for off road x pipe and flowmasters, and i no have complaints with the car its just that Ive always wanted a cobra and i am sick of people with maros and new edge mustangs(gt's and cobra) and even fox body's talking trash bout my stock Sn95. i currently am still paying off my car, i owe like 4000 dollars still, i got it for 6000 after financing and all and the interest rate sucks ( had to get it financed cus i don't have 6 grand burning a hole in my wallet) mu question is should i just finish paying mine off and make it faster, with full pi swap, gears, so on and so on. or should i juts put myself in more debt and trade in for a cobra, perferably a 96-98, 99- 01 are OK but are a little overpriced in my area, plus i don't want IRS.. thanks guys any advice would help

If i didn't have so much $$$$ in my car and it was basically just stock i would go find a 4V project in a millisecond :eek:uttahere:

If you can find a buyer to get you out from under your current loan and find a clean 4V then do it. Its a much better platform to build on in the long term.

Ill say keep what you have, once you pay it off you will have some money to mode it.

Why get into bigger debt?

Maybe a 4V swap, which is pretty common and easy, from what ive read..

If you're just going to go to an SN-95 cobra I would keep the GT and do a 4v swap. The cars really aren't all that different beyond the engine and a few other minor things. The difference between a 98Gt and a 98 Cobra are a lot less then the differences between a 03 GT and a 03 Cobra.

If it was the new edge I'd say start over, otherwise just do a 4v swap.

Edit: That is unless some deal falls into your lap where you can sell your car to get out of the loan and find a clean cobra for a reasonable price. It would be a moot point then as far as cost and I would go for the cobra.

Good advice... that is what I did with my 07 Subaru STi instead of buying another brand new one
to get the new hatchback body style.
