ok this is kinda hard for me to explain but im gonna do it the best Ican. I have a c4 tranny in my 94 5.0 but there is a thing that was hooked up to the previous tranny that is just hanging now it has an elctrical hook up and if it is unplugged then the car wont start and if it is turned from the park position the car wont start either. I think it is to let the computer know when and what gear the car is in, not too sure. but any ways it only stays in park so when I am in gear it has a rev limiter of like 4000 rpm's. and it just bouces on 4 grand until I let off the gas. I was wondring if that hookup is my problem and how to fix it?

I'm assuming your car was originally an Auto. If you're still running the auto ECU, you need to either locate the ECU out of a 5speed or get the car to a tuner that knows how to "unfuck" that. The C4 doesn't car what is happening electrically, it just goes and shifts based on its line pressure and vaccum signal. The AODE (E means electronically controlled) is controlled electrically (imagine that) by the ECU. SO by not hooking up plug that went to the old tranny, the ECU is thinking you're still in park/neutral and is applying a rev limiter. A 5speed doesn't take ANY signal from the tranny except for the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) which has nothing to do with the tranny at all so this what you need to get....a T4M0 Computer for a manual.
